Karla Jeanne Ibarra passed away at Clark Fork Valley Hospital in Plains on March 11th, 2019 at the age of 61.
Karla is preceded in death by her mother Jeanne, her father Leon, her two brothers Mike and Vincent, and her daughter Rebecca and her grandson Shane.
Karla is lovingly remembered by her daughter Rachel, her sons Andrew and Christopher, her granddaughter Aleah, her children-in-law Elizabeth and Steven, her cousin Tom Tompkins and wife Valerie, and her most beloved friend Pugsly.
Karla was born in Pasco, WA on September 30th, 1957. She attended high school in Newport, where she quit her senior year to help care for her father. She was very proud when she earned her GED later in life. She married her first husband Victor when she was 18, and they travelled the country selling their handmade art. They had two children, Rebecca and Christopher. Some years later she took her kids and moved to Plains without her husband for a chance at a better life.
It was here in Plains that she met her second husband Primitivo. They had 2 children, Rachel and Andrew, and continued her passion for traveling and selling handmade art. They lived in several states before finally settling down in Plains in 2000.
Karla was a unique soul who enjoyed many different things, namely crafting and playing videogames with her kids. She was merciless when playing board games and loved word games and puzzles. She was a very talented piano player and passed her love of music on to her children.
Taking care of others was in Karla’s nature. Her kids meant everything to her, and when they grew up and left home, she continued to nurture others through her work at Little Bitterroot. The clients looked up to her like she was their mom, and she cared for them like they were her children.
Karla was feisty and loving. She was tough and honest and would do anything she could to help someone. We will miss her very much.
