Barry Fowler Obituary BARRY LEE FOWLER Barry Lee Fowler passed away December 27, 2023 in Plains, Montana. He was born to Peggy Harding Fowler and Winfield Lee Fowler on September 6, 1953 in Takoma Park, Maryland. In 1956, Barrys family moved to a country setting in Florida where he developed his love for nature. Barry graduated from Forest Lake Academy in 1972. He furthered his education with a degree in biology from Southern Adventist University, Collegedale Tennessee, and a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Trevecca Nazarene University, Nashville, Tennessee. He worked in the education field in various capacities as school system superintendent, principal and teacher in New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado and Montana. In 2002, Barry decided to utilize his people skills in a new role as Director of the Clark Fork Valley Hospital Foundation in Plains, Montana, raising funds to support the hospital. He wore many hats in his work for the hospital, from hiring staff to making sure sidewalks were kept clear in winter. He loved to play golf and coached the local high school golf team for five years. In addition to golf, Grizzly football and reading, his favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends, his motto being always to treat people as he would like to be treated. Preceding Barry in death are his mother, Peggy Thompson; his father, Winfield(Tinker) Fowler; stepmother, Nancy Fowler; stepfather, Verle Thompson, Sr.; stepbrother, Verle Thompson, Jr. and stepsister, Judith Thompson. Left behind to mourn his passing are his wife of 47 years, Carol, and his daughter, Lauren Fowler. In addition are his sister, Cynthia Fowler Gaver(Jeff); brother, Tobin Fowler(Doralee); brother, Kevin Fowler(Missy); brother, Keith Fowler(Debbie); sister, Ruth Williams, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed! "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
