Bede Frye Obituary Bede Hortense Widhalm Frye: January 22, 2022 was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and at Bede Fryes house, things were as normal as they could be. The little grandkids ran around the house jumping and yelling, singing and playing, while the older ones and Bedes kids, spent time with her. At 3:30pm, Elyssa Frye (Ryans wife) looked at Ryan and said "I think your dad is here." Everyone gathered as she took her last breath, truly surrounded by her loved ones, she was finally at peace. Bedes life began in 1950. She was born to George and Cyrilla Widhalm. She went to Valier High School and graduated in 1968. Shortly after her graduation, Bede moved to Conrad to live with her sister Claire and her husband Jim as she got her start in life. Little did she know her life was about to take a HUGE turn when she met Bruce, a handsome New Yorker, at the malt shop. They fell madly in love and got married in 1972. Bede and Bruce went on to have six children. With Bruce off traveling for work, Bede would often be found taking the kids to Valier to spend time with her family. They were such a close family and often didnt go long without seeing each other. Even as they aged, the calls and visits continued. Bede filled her days with her kids, selling Tupperware, helping around the community and working with the local Womens Auxiliary. Once the kids were all in school, Bede took a job working in the school cafeteria. She worked her way up to Head Cook and managed the kitchen. She truly loved seeing the kids each day and the kids loved seeing her. Bruce and Bede went to all the school events. Bede took tickets for years and found so much enjoyment in the accomplishments of the kids in the community. She loved to bake her "World Famous" chocolate chip cookies for anyone. More than anything, Bede loved being with her children and grandchildren. She traveled all over the world just to be with them! And her favorite book to read them was "Ill love you forever." All these years, Bede also faithfully attended St. James Catholic Church. She worked on the Alter Society, helped with Soup and Salad, and often would go with her dear friend Kay Nygard to the nursing home to visit with residents. She also was a prestigious member of the Plains Coffee Club whose daily meetings brought great joy to her. Its difficult to sum up her life in just a few short words, but she made this world a better place. Mom was the most selfless person we know. She asked for nothing, never wanted anyone to worry about her, and only ever asked for two things: pray for each other and be nice to each other. In her final years she was blessed to have her son Kirk help take care of her along with the entire community of Plains. In her memory we ask that you forgive easy, pray for each other and be kind. Bede was preceded in death by her father George, mother Cyrilla, brothers Joe (Sharon) and Ray (Georgia) and brother-in- Darrell, and the love of her life Bruce. Her survivors include all of her children, Jerry (Aspen), Heather, Kirk, Kent (Rose), Ryan (Elyssa) and Audra. As well as 11 grandchildren, Megan (Rob), Aidan, Maximus, Maya, Izzy, Damian, Sebastian, Andrew, Kingston, Chase and Kane who all have an "Angel around them." Also survived by her sisters Antoinette, Claire, Delores, Madeline and Agnes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. James Church or the Ladies Auxiliary in Plains.
