Clare Mates Obituary Long-time resident Clare F. Mates passed away after an extended illness February 8, 2021. Clare was born June 11, 1936. Clare moved to Thompson Falls in June of 1980 after retiring from a 26 year career in the U.S. Air Force. Clare worked for many years as a police officer for the city of Thompson Falls. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marjory J. Mates; daughters, Jean Wakefield of Redfield, Arkansas and Linda Cameron of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Michel Mates of Belleville, Illinois; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and longtime family friend Charlotte Rowe of Martin, Montana. He was preceded in death by son, Steven M. Mates Services Family to do services at later date Online Memory & Photo Sharing Event
