Elena Sherman Obituary Passing of Elena "Lee" Sherman Elena "Lee" Sherman, 90 years old, of Trout Creek, Montana, passed away peacefully in her familys home, on May 19, 2021. Her loving sons and daughter in law, were by her side. Lee is a member of the Concord United Methodist Church. Lee was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on July 30, 1930. Lee met and married her first husband, Richard Kearns Davis while he was stationed at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York and then moved to California. Lee provided a lifetime of service to her community as a nurse and physical therapist, working at Concord Community and Mount Diablo Hospitals. Lee was well known for her outgoing, warm personality and her famous pasta dinners, who many have said, held the family together. Those who knew her well recognized her generosity, always extending herself to those in need, whether a stranger, friend or family member. Lee was a leader in nearly any situation, offering opinion and counsel readily, often commenting on her "broad shoulders" and willingness to carry many burdens. Lee used her love and energy and modeled how to successfully blend a diverse family, especially after the accidental death of her first husband and then remarrying Lee Vail Sherman, in 1976, the love of her life. "Lee and Lee" were renowned for their ownership of Shermans Cycle Salvage in Concord, California and their active membership in the Oakland Motorcycle Club. Lee often recalled her many road-trips and escapades with the club with fondness. Lee was adventurous, even into her later years, first moving to Hope, Idaho where she enjoyed boating and the lake life. Her final adventure was her move to the Little Beaver Creek Ranch in Trout Creek, Montana where she marveled the mountains, scenery and wildlife. Lee was a devoted mother survived by five children; she was grandmother to nine and great grandmother to ten children. Lee is also survived by her sister, Gloria Salmon, Antioch, California. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Vail Sherman and her parents, Michael and Theresa Di Stasi and sister, Angela Rose. Importantly, for so many, Lee was observed by many family and friends dancing, beautifully dressed with her hair and nails perfect, at her granddaughters wedding, just three days before her passing. Lees ashes will be carried and spread in a private remembrance, as to her wishes, by the Oakland Motorcycle Club joining a last ride of "Lee and Lee."
