Emil Joseph Pavlik Jr.

Emil (Emanuel) Joseph Pavlik, Jr. of Thompson Falls, MT passed away May 6, 2017 in Missoula after several years of health issues. Emil was born May 17, 1933 in Manhattan, NY to Emil Sr., and Gertrude Pavlik. He moved to Milton, Delaware at the age of 14. Emil lived there until he married the love of his life, Kathleen Workman on July 20th, 1956. They lived in the Rehoboth Beach area for the first 23 years of their marriage. Emil served in the Army from 1953 to 1955. Then in the Army Reserve eight years. For six years of that time he was on the Army Rifle Shooting Team for competition matches. He was outstanding in this field and proud of his military service. Emil was a Master Electrician and started his own electrical contracting business, Pavlik Electric. He served on the Volunteer Fire Department and was a Board Member for the Electrical Examiners for the State of Delaware. He started working with wood which became a lifelong passion of Emils. In these years they also started their family of six children, Emil Jay, David, Michael, Tracy, Stacey and Lance. At a young age the older boys helped their Dad, learning the electrical business which they continue to work in today. In 1979 Emil and Kathleen sold their business and moved with the youngest three children to Thompson Falls, Montana. There, the family was increased to seven with the addition of Lisa. The family opened Grannys Restaurant as well as building another Pavlik Electric Company. The work started as residential, then expanded to industrial, highway and including numerous Airport Improvement Projects in a four state area. In 2003 Pavlik Electric Company was bought by three of the Pavlik sons when Emil retired from a career that spanned fifty years. Emil was recently awarded a "Spirit Award" for service and a 50 year membership plaque from the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. He was very well respected in the industry and formed many long time friendships. Emil was loved by his large family and will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 plus years, Kathleen, his seven children, 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and his sister Helen in Delaware. To his family Emil leaves a legacy of life lessons; including a high standard of work ethic, his organizational habits, his respect for the Military, his smarts and keen sense of "know how" and his willingness to help out others. A Memorial Service and celebration of Emil's life will be held on Saturday the 20th of May, 4 pm, at the Christian Church in Thompson Falls, MT.
