Floyd Waymire Obituary Floyd Vearl Waymire was born to Jesse and Betty Waymire on September 23, 1949, where he joined sister, Pat, and later another sister, Alice, and brother, Fred, completing the family. Floyd lost his courageous battle with lung disease on September 27,2024. Floyd grew up in Great Falls, Montana, and at the age of 17, joined the Marine Corps. The day he turned 18, he shipped out to Vietnam, doing three tours before returning back home; not to a hero's welcome but to disrespect and hatred. Floyd married his first wife, Laura Lee, and they had one daughter, Mikeal. They divorced and Floyd moved to Missoula, finding a home in Lolo. While working at Sentinel High School as the Maintenance Coordinator, he met Cindy Myers, and they became fast friends and partners forever. They married on June 30, 1999, and brought a lifelong bond together. Floyd raised three children as if they were his own. Ryan, Lacey, and Whitney were his children. He never wavered from his role as the provider and head of the household. Floyd and Cindy found a piece of property in Heron, Montana, and built a home together. The foundation was dug and poured, and the walls and trusses were put up and then the hard work began. The home was built by Floyd and Cindy with the help of his brother, Fred, children Ryan, Lacey, and Whitney and their families. Nephew, Cory Ackerman, put in some long hours helping with tape and texturing as well. Our dream home was built and beautiful. Floyd loved teaching his grandchildren how to fix things and work the backhoe and other machinery. He could be found patiently working with his grandsons on how to run the backhoe or pouring and leveling concrete. He never tired of sharing his time with each of his grandchildren. He loved watching hockey games with his grandson, and a wrestling match with another. Each grandchild held a very special place in his heart and he cherished time spent with them. Floyd always had a fun story to tell and everyone loved to listen to his tales. He will be sorely missed each and every day. A celebration of Floyd's life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the family home in Heron. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Tunnels to Towers or Gary Sinise Foundation in honor of Floyd's service and dedication to fellow military members. I promise you, Floyd, I will never forget! Services Celebration of Life Saturday October 5, 2024 1:00 PM Waymire Family Home 22 Sandi Ln Heron, MT 59844 Online Memory & Photo Sharing Event
