Frederick 'Elmer' Foote, 91, died Dec. 5, 2015 at the Evergreen Hot Springs Health Nursing Home where he had made his home this past year. He was born on the family homestead in the Whitepine, MT area on May 17, 1924 to Frederick Arthur Foote and Amirilla Coburn Smith Foote. Elmer attended school in Thompson Falls and then worked as a mechanic at the Bremerton shipyard repairing military transports before returning to the Whitepine homestead. He was a gifted mechanic and was even called on once to help with the trubines at the Thompson Falls dam facility. He was a handy man who loved music and his God. He enjoyed being a photographer. Known as 'Uncle Elmer' by many family friends, he liked to tinker with bikes and motors for the benefit of others. Many also enjoyed his musical talents with his guitar and voice. Elmer enjoyed traveling to California in the winters with his good friends Del and Jane Simmerman. He was precede in death by his parents, his sisters, Martha May Taylor and Elsie Louise Golden and a niece, Bonnie Fae Weisse. He is survived by his sister Wilma Edna Foote of Trout Creek an many nieces and nephews including John (Kathy) Golden, Jim (Connie) Golden, Dale an Dean Golden, Colleen (David) Schmersal, Glen (Becky) Taylor and Gina (Anthony) Tanner and also many great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held December 11th at Whitepine Community Church with burial following in the Whitepine Cemetery.
