Remembering Gordon Gordon Elee Hall was born in his grandpa's house on December 17th, 1935 to Hershel and Maybelle Hall. He passed away March 17th, 2017 due to a very tired heart. Gordon went to Metamora High School where he was a football player who went on to play semi pro. That is until raising children became his priority. Gordon married Barb Hines in 1953 and had a son, Mike, and a little girl Patti. While they both loved their children they would part ways eight years later. Gordon started out working as a laborer in construction and moved his way up to running heavy machinery out of the Operators. He was also a Teamster and a Union BA for the hotel, restaurant, and bartenders Union in Kalispell. While working for Teamsters he drove truck for several different companies. One night while driving he stopped at a truck stop called the Circle T in Knoxville, IL and fell head over heels in love with the beautiful waitress they called 'Sam.' Gordon married Paula Stewart 'Sam' December 23rd,1961. They went on to have three daughters, Michelle, Kristi, and Tonya. The Hall family moved to Somers, Mt (for the third and final time) in late summer of 1976. Gordon would continue to go back to Illinois to work construction in the summers and Paula would start her 22 year career of working for the United States Postal Service. Gordon was very social minded and ran several times for political office. While never winning in politics, he did win the hearts of everyone who met him. He always had a smile and a joke to share. Over the years all of his children married and had amazing grandchildren for Grandpa Hall. He was a wonderful grandpa who acted like a big kid himself, much to the amusement of his grandchildren. Grandma and Grandpa Hall loved having the grandkids stay and play at their home. First in Somers, then out to Kila, and finally ending up in Hot Springs for his remaining years where he would become one of Hot Springs larger cattle ranchers, what with his two cows. He loved to be outside and tinker around the yard. His favorite job being mowing the lawn on his riding mower. He spent his mornings up at the Lonepine store drinking coffee and sharing stories with the guys. Everyone who knew Gordon knows what a huge loss his passing is. He was a larger than life man who filled the room with his booming voice and personality. We love you dad and will miss you more than you will ever imagine. Gordon left behind his wife of 55 years, Paula. Children Mike, Rose; Patti, Eddie; Michelle, Ross; Kristi; Tonya, Jay. Grandchildren Ryan; Shannon, Greg; Lindsey; Josh, Cheyenne; Eric; Jessica; Tanner; Allie; Jamie; and Justine. Great-grandchildren Macelynne, Jesselynn, Levi, Chance, Preston, Keaton, Kaiden, Hunter, and Sunny.
