Jim Holyk

James (Jim) T. J. Holyk passed away on Memorial Day (May 26) 2025, on the family farm in Plains, MT.

Jim was born August 3rd, 1943, to parents Babe and Carolyn Holyk in Scobey, MT. He attending High School in Sidney, MT and joined the Airforce at 17 years old and served for 4 years mostly in Thale, Greenland. He worked several years in California and moved to Plains, MT in 1974, where he worked several jobs and loved working with cars as a mechanic. He loved to make people laugh!

In September of 1978 he married the love of his life, Billie Patton and made their home in Plains, MT on Swamp Creek Road where they lived for 46 years on the family homestead!

Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy. Survivors include his wife, Billie, son Melvin of Texas, nephews Dennis Dawson and family of Plains and Ryan Dawson of Plains raised by Jim and Billie from a young age, and Billie’s sister Dee Williams, also survived by siblings, sister Diane and Bob Johnson (of Plains) and family of Coeur d’ Alene, brother Dan and Linda Holyk and family of Canada and CA, Tim Holyk and family of AZ and CA and Don and Marcy Holyk and family of Medicine Hat, Canada and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be held at a later date.
