Janelle Marie Shackelford

Janelle Marie Wood Shackelford, 72, of St. Regis passed away March 25, 2025, at her home.

Janelle was born January 10, 1953, in San Diego, CA to Troy and Betty Wood. She graduated from Ramona High School in 1971. She was married to Arnold Shackelford for many years until his death in 2009.

Janelle loved her cats, reading books and playing games on her computer. She was a strong-willed, hard-working free spirit who deeply loved her family, her friends and her kitties.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold and her brother Gary “Skip” Wood. She is survived by her son Konrad Bromfield of Anaconda, her daughter, Petrina Lohman of St. Regis, 2 grandsons, Ben of St. Regis, Jacob of Niles, OH; granddaughter, Khloe of Butte; 2 sisters, Judi Arey of Redding, CA; Venita Winslett of Cape Coral, FL; brother, Ed Abbott of Ramona, CA. Stepsons, Jason and Arnie Shackelford of Lakeside, CA, Ray Shackelford of Las Vegas, and many nieces and nephews as well as her extended families the Palmers, the Lewis and the Cheesmans of St. Regis, MT.

A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Sunset Hills Funeral Homes and Crematory in Plains, MT.
