Juanita Inez Stobie

Juanita Inez Lafleur Stobie, 83, quietly passed away on March 29, 2016 at her home, in Eddy, MT. She was born on August 31, 1932 in Oakdale, Louisana to Robert Lee and Inez Morgan Lafleur. Juanita grew up in Oakdale. She graduated from Oakdale High School. After high school she attended college for one year.

Juanita married Herbert William Stobie in 1953 in Oakdale Louisana. They moved to Montana and lived at the Stobie Ranch where Herbs family had difficulty understanding Juanitas thick Southern accent. They were happily married for 63 years spending the majority of that time at their home in Eddy. Juanita was a member of St William Catholic Church in Thompson Falls. She enjoyed picking the first spring Buttercups, attending Mass and praying the Rosary. Juanita passed on her unique sense of humor to her children and she will be missed by all.

Juanita was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers Raymond and Author; and sister Lucille.

Juanita is survived by her spouse Herbert of Eddy; her sons Dyke Stobie and Drew Stobie of Thompson Falls, John Pat (Cherie) Stobie of Marion; daughters Maureen Simonson of Richey, and Suzanne (Scott) Ferguson of Helena. She is also survived by her sister Rose Hayes of Oakdale LA, Helen Walker of Chesaning MI, and Jeanette Williamson of Mobile AL. Her grandchildren Andy Stobie, Rebecca Stobie, Aimee Griffin, Derrick (Rita) Stobie, Douglas Stobie, Erik (Becky) Simonson, Marcus (Missy) Simonson, Brent Payton, Jamie Payton, Amanda Stobie, Katie Stobie and Dominic Stobie, as well as eight great grandchildren survive Juanita.

A family led Rosary at 7:00 PM followed by a vigil service at 7:30 PM will be held at St. William Catholic Church in Thompson Falls at on Thursday March 31, 2016. A funeral Mass will be held at St. William Catholic Church in Thompson Falls at 11:00 AM April 1, 2016 followed by lunch and burial will take place in Plains at 3:30.
