Kathleen Mae Breitenbach

August 13, 1940 — August 13, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen "Kathy" Mae Breitenbach announces her passing on August 13, 2017. She was born August 13, 1940 in Ronan, Mont., to Gerald and Louise Eldridge. She was a Thompson falls High School graduate and a lifetime resident of Thompson falls. In her younger years, she enjoyed sky-diving and bowling. She could always be found cheering on her sons and grandchildren during various sporting events. She will be forever remembered for her cooking and her willingness to always help others. Throughout her life, she could always be found with her sister, Anita Haase, and friends playing cards or enjoying bingo. Back in the days of the Vinson Ranch Rodeo, Les Hodges was logging and cut down a tree. Two bear cubs were in the tree, and the mother ran off and wouldnt come back. Les brought the cubs into town. He kept one and took one to the Vinson Ranch. The cub liked Kathy and she ended up taking it home. She raised the cub, which she named Hay Bear, until it was big enough to take to a zoo in Helena. Kathy enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. She was reunited with best friend and love of her life, Richard Breitenbach. She is survived by her two sons, Ricky (Leslye) Breitenbach and Donald "Donny" Breitenbach of Thompson Falls, Mont.; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa), Tiffanee (Galen), Jesse, Brittany, Eric, Aaron, Josh and Brett; six great-grandchildren: Billy, Cassidy, Oliver, Eleanor, Brennon and Chris; three sisters Leona (Leon) Schmidt of Mountlake Terrace, Wash., Anita (David) Haase of Thompson Falls, Mont. and Jeri (Jack) Inman of Vacaville, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; and her three brothers, Elvin, Herb and Bill. A celebration of life is planned for June 23, 2018, in Thompson Falls, Mont. Location and time to be determined. Memorial donations may be made in Kathys name to the Thompson Falls Senior Citizen Center, 406-827-3457.
