Lucille Hawley Obituary Lucille (Toots) Chapman Hawley was born on May 14, 1930, in Pontiac, Michigan to William Chapman and Florence Smith. She passed away on June 3, 2024, in Plains Montana. Toots- a family nickname given to her by her oldest brother Norman- moved with her family to Plains before her first birthday in August 1930. On October 29, 1948, she married Walter Henry and to this union were born Patricia Ann, Beverly Jean, Dennis Ray, Dale Richard, and Michael Walter. They followed her brother Barney and his family to Portland, Oregon, where she resided for a large part of her adult life. She divorced in 1954, and then met and married Gene Hawley in 1964, who became the father in the heart of each of her children. They moved to Paradise, Montana in 1986, where they lived until she sold her home and moved to her cozy apartment in Plains. She is survived by her daughter Beverly Wassinger of Woodburn, Oregon; son Dale (Suzy) Henry of Scotts Valley, California; Grand Children: Justin (Chris) Wassinger, Chris Wassinger, Kendra Henry, Wyatt (Heather) Henry, Shantell (Brandon) Shaffer, Brianna Henry, Ellie Evans, and Skye Williams; 16 Great-Grand Children and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, her sister Vi Rowan and numerous nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her mother Florence; her husband Gene; brothers Norman, Chuck, Barney, Sam, and Richy; sisters Florence and Margaret; daughter Patricia and sons Dennis and Michael; and her grandson Colton.
