Marie "Babe" Ardis

Marie Angeline Miles Ardis, 88, died Friday April 3 at Clark Fork Valley Hospital Long Term Care. She was born April 20, 1926 in St. Ignatius, MT. She grew up in the area and attended schools there. She married Warren Ardis in 1943 in Butte, MT. Marie later worked for the Post Office and was the Post Master in Perma for several years until it closed and she was transferred to Paradise where she served as Post Master until she retired in 1990. She loved the time she spent with the Senior Citizens Centers in Dixon and Plains and baking cookies and making salads for the gatherings. She loved to play BINGO and crocheting. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Warren in 2004 and a Son, John in 1965, and a Sister, Ethel. She is survived by her Sons, Roy and wife Anna of Plains, Robert and wife Laurel of Kalispell. Along with 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. A Rosary Service will be held Sunday, April 12 at 6:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church in Plains. A Funeral Mass will be conducted Monday, April 13 at 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial will follow in Plains Cemetery. Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Plains are entrusted with the arrangements.
