Mary Elgie Moore

Mary Elgie (Shaw) Moore passed on to live with Angels Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015. She was living in her apartment in Thompson Falls before departing to her forever home. Mary was born March 26, 1919 in Lake Elsinore, CA. She was the fourth of five children born to Hugh Perry Shaw and Elgie Elizabeth (Pentoney) Shaw. She moved to Oxnard, CA. when she was one year old and graduated from Oxnard High School. On June 15, 1938, Mary marred John Benjamin Moore in Las Vegas, NV. They were married 57 years before John's passing in 1995. Mary and John were the parents of five children; Elgie Christine (Tina), John Terence, Susan Anne (Sue), John Robert, and Mary Louise (M'Lou). All of their children were born in Oxnard, CA. Mary is survived by daughters; Elgie Christine Vance (Victor), Susan Anne Roberts (Mark), Mary Louise Schuster (Larry); six grandchildren, Amy Sue Archibald (Ryan), Jason Thomas Roberts (Nichole), Carrie Elizabeth Vance, Cody Charles Schuster (Sue), Matthew Terrence Roberts; six great-grand children; a sister, Susan Ella Clyne; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends. Over the years, Mary lived in many locations and most of them with her husdand John. Some of the towns are: Lake Elsinor, Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Fairfield, Paso Robles, all in California; Tucson, AZ; De Beque, Grand Junction, CO; Great Falls and Thompson Falls, MT. Those preceding Mary are her parents, Hugh Perry and Elgie Elizabeth Shaw; husband, John Benjamin Moore; sister, Janet Caroline McAfee and Bette Esther McGrath and brother, Hugh Ezra Shaw. Mary will now be living among them and many others tied to her genealogy roots. Mary has been cremated. Her remains will be comingled with her husband's and son's ashes with inurnment in California. The family will have a Celebration of LIfe for her in the early Spring. Mary has requested , if you feel so inclined, to please send any donations to a charity of your choice. Per Mary's request: Peace to all my family and many friends, please do not be sad, I am in a happier place. Rember all the great times we have had together and please live your life according to the Golden Rule.
