Miles S. 'Pat' Harbin passed away in Plains, Montana on April 14, 2015, at the age of 93. He was born on May 9, 1921. He was in good health until his final brief illness. Pat is survived by his five children, Nancy Richwine, Connie Voth (Bob); Joanne Shaffer (Rich), Ray Harbin (Carol) and Roger Harbin (Joan). He had twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. His special friend, Sally Sears, also mourns his passing. Pat was raised in the Flathead Valley on his parents' ranch, and developed a lifelone love of the outdoors. He spent two summers on a fire lookout in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and continued to visit there up to his final trip to fish in the South Fork at age 85. Miles served in the Army Air Corp in World War II. He lived in Kalispell, Ronan, Condon, Arizonia, and Plains. He was married to Harriet (Jensen) Harbin, who preceded him in death in 2007. A private ceremony was held for the family members in Plains, and a memorial will be held for friends and his extended family later this summer.
