Phyllis Marie Shively

Phyllis Marie Shively went to be with her Lord Oct. 26, 2015 after a year of fighting cancer, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Phyllis was born Dec. 29, 1951 in Missoula to Phillip and Leona Cameron of Hot Springs. She spent happy years growing up on the family homestead in Hot Springs. She graduated valedictorian in 1970 from Charlo High School and then attended Western Montana College from 1970 to 1972, majoring in math and English. She married in 1972 and had daughter Angela Marie Williams.

Phyllis moved to California and completed a computer programming course and worked in various computer related jobs in California and Seattle, Wash. In 1987 she met Judson Shively, the love of her life, at a company retreat. They moved to Lake Tahoe and were married July 8, 1989 at the Ponderosa Ranch, the film site of the television show Bonanza.

May 10, 1991 daughter Jessica Marie Shively was born in Reno, Nev. In August 1991 the family moved to Port Orchard, Wash. where Phyllis and Judson worked for Nordstrom in Seattle. In 2004 the family moved to Thompson Falls. In May 2006 they opened and operated Thompson Grill for nine and years.

Phyllis is survived by husband Judson Shively, daughters Angela Marie Williams and Jessica Marie Shively of Thompson Falls; sister Virginia Ellen Perris of Bremerton, Wash.; grandchildren Cameron and Cayden Robinson of Port Angeles, Wash,; Alias Lee Williams and James Robertson Ratliff of Thompson Falls; cousins Chadd and Amy Laws of Thompson Falls; Bev and Ray Erchul of Hot Springs; Steve and Deanna Matheson of Kalispell; Ron and Pat Murphy of Whitefish; aunts Ethel Richards and Dorothy Mummy of Spokane, Wash.

Family viewing will be held at Sunset Funeral Home in Thompson Falls Friday, Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Community Congregational Church on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. Graveside service will be held at the Whitepine Cemetery followed by a reception at the First Baptist Church in Thompson Falls.
