Donna Mallery Obituary

Donna Marie Kline Mallery was born to Merrit and Maude Kline on June 1, 1925 in Randolph, Minnesota. She was the eighth of 11 children to be born and raised on the family dairy farm.

Donna attended Randolph School all 12 years. She started writing journals in sixth grade, a hobby she enjoyed throughout her life.

Raised in a Christian home, she attended college at St. Paul Bible Institute, now Crown College, where she met and soon became engaged to Robert Warren Mallery.

Robert felt called to the ministry, and shortly after his engagement to Donna, he accepted a pastorate in a small community church in Savage, Montana.

The following year, on Sept. 22, 1945, Robert and Donna were married in Northfield, Minnesota.

After a short honeymoon in the Black Hills of South Dakota, they set up a home and a ministry in Savage, Montana. They would go on to plant new churches in small communities across western Montana.

Through her years as a pastor’s wife, Donna was a blessing to many people through her ministering, teaching, corresponding with missionaries, and in general, loving people. She had an infectiously positive spirit.

Whenever asked how she was doing, whether in good times or bad, she would inevitably reply with bright eyes and a smile, “I’m always rejoicing!”

But her best and favorite role was being mother to five sons: Richard, Robert, Ronald, Roger, and “baby” Raymond.

Robert preceded Donna in death on October 23, 1990, after which Donna carried on a flourishing ministry while living in Plains, Montana.

Donna was a fantastic baker, with cinnamon rolls and fruit pies her specialties. She also enjoyed playing the piano and singing.

Donna spent the past four years at Immanuel Lutheran Communities where she continued to be a blessing and touch the lives of all around her until her passing on June 15, 2020.

Now Donna and her beloved husband, Robert, will forever be always rejoicing together.

Donna is survived by her five sons: Richard Mallery – Salem, Oregon; Robert and Pam Mallery – Las Vegas, Nevada; Ronald and Nancy Mallery – Kalispell, Montana; Roger and Starla Mallery – Plains, Montana; Raymond and Rhonda Mallery – Moscow, Idaho.

She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and even several great-great-grandchildren.
