Obituary

Verna Marie Smith, 85 passed away peacefully at Hot Springs Health and Rehab on July 9, 2023. Verna grew up in Dillon Mt, attending Western Mt. College. She taught in Missoula, Hamilton and Plains Elementary. She enjoyed flower gardening, camping, cooking, and most of all the many pets that were a large part of her life. She had season tickets to Griz football games and was their biggest fan, driving from Plains to games for many years. She tirelessly cared for my Dad until his passing July 2021. In retirement they traveled in their motor home to Arizona, Utah, Pacific Northwest and Canada. They were involved in Masonic/Eastern Star activities, Shrine parades where many lifelong friends were made during this time. She is survived by daughter DeAnna Smith of Missoula, nieces Camy, Cary and many friends. At my parents request there will be Masonic/Eastern Star graveside Service for Tom and Verna on Thursday July 27 th 11a at Plains Cemetary.Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled children in Spokane or Animeals in Missoula.
